My clients Emma and Ryan hosted a colorful end-of-Summer wedding at Hotel Landing in Wayzata, Minnesota.
Their original plan was to get married in Spring 2020 at a local golf club. Due to COVID-19 events were not allowed at the time and the two had to reevaluate plans. When Emma and Ryan realized their venue did not make sense for their new, smaller guest count, they set off to come up with a new solution...which is where I came in! Their new date was set, and my job was to find a new venue to host their ceremony and reception.
Excitedly, I accepted this challenge and the hunt was on! After contacting numerous venues across the Twin Cities, we ~landed~ on an option that fit their style and worked better for the new guest count. Amongst the continuously changing guidelines for special events, we worked with the Hotel Landing team to devise a new plan that Emma and Ryan were excited about! The venue handled all catering and bar service, making it a one-stop solution for our major remaining vendor needs.
One of the many perks of getting married at Hotel Landing is that you do not need to leave the building! The wedding party began their day getting ready in separate suites. Their Presidential Suite is spacious and STUNNING, making it the obvious choice for Sarah Jane Salon and Minneapolis Makeover to complete hair and makeup services for the bridal party. Adult beverages and brunch made for a fun start to the big day!
Emma and Ryan chose to do a first look in the afternoon at the nearby Noerenberg Gardens. I highly recommend this to my couples who want to jump straight into celebration mode after their ceremony! The wedding party and family joined shortly after for group and individual photos, taken by Trish Allison Photography.
Their ceremony was held on the patio attached to the Wayzata Ballroom of Hotel Landing. Flowers from covered the copper arch and lined the balcony - creating a fun, bright backdrop! The pianist, Darian Wohlrabe, set the tone for the nuptials with Cannon in D as Emma was walked down the aisle by her father. Leading the ceremony were members of both the bride and groom's family, who added a special personal touch.
Guests were treated to a cocktail hour with bootlegs served as the signature sip. After that, dinner was served in the Wayzata Ballroom. With such a simple, white canvas, Emma reevaluated her floral selection to bring this room to life! The couple chose to repurpose their ceremony arch behind the sweetheart table, and the rest of the wedding party sat along the front of the room in socially-distanced head tables.
After dinner, the couple enjoyed a Buttercream cake and cupcakes from Lunds Bakery. The bride picked out a custom cake stand from Estelle Colored Glass to have a wedding piece that would last forever!
Speeches and thank you's rounded up the seated portion of the reception, and then it was off to the dance floor! Emma and Ryan, along with their family and friends danced the night away to Instant Request's tunes, making for a perfect end to this amazing day.
